E2 MeX: Metabolism of Xenobiotics

The team Metabolism of Xenobiotics (MeX) works on the metabolic effects of food contaminants.
In particular the impact of mixtures of pesticides, at concentrations that can be ingested through the daily food of healthy consumers. The goal is to understand the cellular effects, the mechanisms of action and to seek biomarkers of exposure.

Different approaches are addressed :

The study of biotransformation and metabolic activation of these compounds.
Approaches in vitro on human cells of intestinal origin since the digestive tract tissue is likely to be exposed to these compounds.
Approaches in vivo in the mouse model to study the impact of pesticide mixtures on hematopoiesis (clonogenicity, differentiation, signaling pathway), hematopoietic cancers being diseases whose incidence is correlated with the professional use of pesticides.
